Delete your account.
You're always in control of your Borro account and everything backed up to the cloud. Delete it yourself in the app or ask us to — and if you change your mind, you have 30 days to restore it before it's erased for good.
Delete in the app
The quickest way — it signs you out and schedules your account and cloud data for deletion, with a 30-day window to restore it if you change your mind.
- Open Borro on your phone.
- Go to Settings → Account & Sync.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Opens the app if it's installed on this device.
Ask us to delete it
Can't access the app? Email us from any device and we'll permanently delete your account and cloud data.
- Email support@aroralabs.org from the address on your account.
- Ask us to delete your account (the button pre-fills this).
- We remove everything within 30 days — usually far sooner.
Opens your mail app with the details filled in.
Changed your mind? 30 days to restore
Deleting isn't instant. Your account and cloud data enter a 30-day recovery period — just sign back in with the same account any time in those 30 days and everything is restored exactly as it was. After 30 days it's permanently erased, and the email address becomes free to sign up with again.
What gets deleted
Deleting removes your account and its cloud-backed ledger — the people, transactions, balances, groups, splits, the receipts attached to your entries, your profile (including any photo you uploaded) and username, and your shared and pending records. During the 30-day recovery window you can still restore all of it by signing back in; after that it's permanently erased and can't be recovered. Local data on a device is wiped when you delete from within that app.
A few things to know: a guest (not-signed-in) account is deleted right away, without the 30-day window. Because Borro is peer-to-peer, anything the other person recorded about a shared transaction stays in their ledger. And any feedback or bug reports you sent us are kept so we can act on them — email us if you'd like those removed too. If you subscribed to Borro Pro, deleting your account doesn't cancel the subscription — manage or cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings.
